MUSIC MOSAIC: A CONCERT FOR GLOBAL HARMONY

It has been planned for months, but it couldn't be more timely. Saturday 6 October, 4 to 6.30pm, will see an inspiring concert at the Thursday Plantation Soundshell in which many artists from all over the world will create a multi-cultural harmony of original music to open the heart and get you dancing.

The line-up includes a newly formed group called 'Satori' featuring Kamal Engels, from Germany, on keyboards; Tarshito, part South African and part South American, on guitar and vocals; Ariel Kalma, from France, flute, sax and vocals; Peter Davidian, from Armenia, on sitar and percussion; and Adi, from Indonesia, on percussion. As well, there will be percussion to drum up the spirit with Yeshe and with Didge Si and Matt Goodwin, accomplished dance wizards on didge and drums, Natalie and Carlo, two young and promising drummers, and Cheze will perform the beautiful Bird Dance with African Drums.

All these musicians are part of the new music label from Mullumbimby 'Music Mosaic', and this concert is partly to celebrate the arrival of a recording company which focuses on World and New Age musical expressions from many nations, flowing together like a beautiful mosaic.

The concert is part of the performing arts program associated with the Thursday Plantation East Coast Sculpture Show. Admission is $20/$15 concession, and includes entry to the sculpture show. Tickets are available at the gate, or from the usual outlets.

The Thursday Plantation East Coast Sculpture Show runs until January 31 2002 at Thursday Plantation, Pacific Highway, 1km north of the Ballina Airport turnoff.
